We've all bought into the sales pitch about seeing dramatic results with little to no effort. The inefficiency of these ridiculous offers is far less astounding than the rate at which people invest their hard-earned money into a product that promises all these things for just two easy payments of $19.99.

But why have we become a nation so focused on the results that we have grown to totally ignore the process and our reasoning behind it? If our bodies will be with us throughout this life, and our health is so important to us, why are we turning it over to the hands of a cheap plastic gimmick sold by some fitness “expert?”

I think it’s time for us to take a stand for our health and quit making excuses about why we “can’t” do it! Let’s bring back the days where men were portrayed as the protectors, the hunters, the head of the family, a symbol of strength and stability for the women in our lives, and a gold standard for future generations. It starts with me. It starts with you…

The steps toward making this positive change are simple:

1. Accept that your health is important and make a decision to change

What motivates you? Do you need more energy in your life? Are there any special events you’re looking forward to? Set some goals. Do you have a spouse or children whom you'd like to be around for? Are you tired of feeling the way you do about yourself?





2. Begin to implement a proper nutrition plan for your life

Seek out a mentor. Consult a dietitian. Do some research online. Read a book. Get a magazine subscription (Such as: Men’s Health or Prevention). Spend more time each week in the produce department of your local grocery store than in line for fast food.





3. Discover fun ways you can exercise at least 3-5 times per week

Join a gym or fitness center. Ride a bike to work. Learn a new sport. Find a nearby trail to hike each morning. Take a power walk in the evening. Go for a run. Take a group fitness class. Do SOMETHING!




4. Start TODAY!

Thinking about it is 100% guaranteed NOT to get you in shape. Stop making excuses and start taking responsibility for your health.
